Liverpool are considering making a move for Aurelien Tchouameni next week, according to reports.
The reds are among several clubs who have been linked with signing Monaco midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni.
Earlier this month, a report claimed the French midfielder wanted to join Liverpool, who have since been joined in their pursuit by Spanish giants Real Madrid – their Champions League final opponents.
According to 90min, Liverpool and Manchester City scouts were in attendance at Tchouameni’s most recent match, during which he scored two goals in a victory over Lille. The outing was an audition of sorts in front of such stellar guests.
Liverpool are reportedly linked with a number of other players this summer. But according to Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri, the Reds’ top target remains Tchouameni, who is valued at £50 million (about $67 million).
“I can say to you that the interest for Tchouameni is really high. They [Liverpool] consider getting this player as one of the priorities during the transfer window of this summer.
Things could move next week because the opponent of the Reds on that race has not given up yet. I think the club who wants the player will need to give at least £50m to Monaco.” He told Empire of the Kop.
Liverpool have been known to invest in the future – and Aurelien Tchouameni joining the club would be another example of that. Fabinho is one of the world’s finest defensive midfielders but has been a little bit erratic in recent weeks, picking up more injuries than before.
