Arsenal have held several talks with Juventus to sign Brazilian midfielder Arthur Melo, with Tuttomercatoweb reporting that the Gunners have informed the Italian champions that they are prepared to sign him permanently.
The Gunners have been linked with Arthur for some time. It seemed that he might join the Gunners in the summer transfer window.
The Arsenal hierarchy reportedly turned down a loan deal for the Brazilian after reports claimed that Edu had agreed terms.
Talks have been ongoing for some time between the two clubs and it now appears that a deal is back on the agenda.
Tuttomercatoweb reports that Arsenal and Juventus have been in talks for several days, with the Premier League side indicating to the Serie A club that they are prepared to pay to sign Arthur permanently.
Arsenal have already agreed personal terms with the Brazilian midfielder in a contract worth up to £280,000 a week. Juventus want £17 million to £25.4 million for the former Barcelona man, who is attracting interest from two other Premier League sides.
The Old Lady are also hopeful of signing Gabriel Magalhaes. The club hopes that discussions over Arthur will lead to talks about the centre-back as well.
Arsenal have revived their interest and are actively pursuing Arthur who has been labelled as ‘incredible’, but the Gunners will have to stand firm on their refusal to include centre-half Gabriel Paulista as part of any deal.
