David de Gea – A quiet afternoon for United’s number one on his 500th club appearance. Didn’t really have a save of note to make. 6/10
Diogo Dalot – Pretty quiet in truth. Didn’t do anything wrong nor didn’t do anything spectacular to help his side win the match. 6/10
Raphael Varane – Nice to have him back out there. Started somewhat rusty but grew into the game. Another composed outing. 6/10
Lisandro Martinez – Solid as per usual. Showcased a good range of passing. Calm throughout. 7/10
Luke Shaw – Bombed forward more than Malacia typically does. Got into some decent positions. 6/10
Casemiro – Solid enough. Did his job defensively. Some attacking moves did break down due to his lack of on-ball quality. 5/10
Fred – Not great. Missed a big opportunity. Passing was poor. Often out of position. 2/10
Bruno Fernandes – Another sub-par Bruno display. Sometimes plays it too safe. It’s hard for him to find that perfect balance right now. 4/10
Jadon Sancho – Ordinary. Never really hurt the Newcastle defence from that left-wing position. 4/10
Antony – His Premier League scoring streak ended with an average outing. Didn’t attack or show enough intent. 4/10
Cristiano Ronaldo – Not ideal again. Didn’t really receive the ball in any threatening situations. 3/10
Subs:
Marcus Rashford – Looked lively again. United seemed to threaten more with him on the field. Should have won it late.
