The confirmed MUFC XI for the game vs Newcastle United is now in, with the Red Devils naming a strong lineup for this one.
Manchester United Football Club take on Newcastle United today, in a game that could prove to be a potential banana skin for the Red Devils should they not play to their capabilities.
Eddie Howe’s men are more than able to come to Old Trafford and do a job on Erik ten Hag’s side here, so it’s up to the gaffer to ensure that United are fully ready to put in a top-class display.
With league games starting to come thick and fast, the manager has used this opportunity to change things up a little bit. Neither Christian Eriksen nor Marcus Rashford find themselves in the team, with the former missing out on the squad entirely.
Anyway, let’s get right into the team news. This squad is pretty different to our predicted XI.
Check out the confirmed MUFC XI vs Newcastle United in full here:
David de Gea starts in between the sticks, with the Spaniard the undisputed number one at the club as things stand.
Diogo Dalot is the only fit right-back at the club so this was a pretty easy decision to make. Over on the left-hand side, Luke Shaw is favoured to Tyrell Malacia. Lisandro Martinez was always going to play, as Raphael Varane completes the back four.
Casemiro is starting to find his mojo so it makes sense to keep that ball rolling. He partners Fred in that deeper role. Bruno Fernandes starts and captain’s the side in this one.
Cristiano Ronaldo does lead the line. Somewhat surprisingly in my opinion. To his right and left respectively is Antony and Jadon Sancho. We’re going to need to see some genuine service for this front three today.
