Barcelona coach Xavi has once again criticised the officiating after Sunday’s defeat to Real Madrid in El Clasico.
The boss was furious with the referee after the midweek defeat to PSG and was unhappy once again with what happened at the Santiago Bernabeu.
A first-half ‘ghost goal’ from Lamine Yamal was the real problem, with Xavi convinced the ball had gone over the line.
“Everyone has seen it. They can sanction me. The images are there. I can only analyze the game and we have been better than Madrid. We have missed details, but this is part of the transition process we are in. We deserved to win,” he told reporters.
Barca goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen blasted the lack of goal-line tech after the game, and Xavi agreed it’s a problem for La Liga.
“Well, I totally agree. It is a shame. Yes it is, yes. I think yesterday they asked me about the referee and I said I hope he goes unnoticed and gets it right,” he added.
“Well, neither of those things happened. A shame. If we want to be the best League in the world, we must advance and implement technology.”
