Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen has blasted the lack of goal-line technology in La Liga after a 3-2 defeat to Real Madrid in El Clasico.
The visitors were denied a goal at the Santiago Bernabeu that would have put them 2-1 up when Lamine Yamal flicked a ball goalward but saw it pushed out by Andriy Lunin.
VAR checked the incident before deciding it wasn’t a goal, leaving Barcelona furious and Ter Stegen very frustrated with the situation.
“It’s a shame that they don’t find an angle to check the goal… I don’t have words to describe it. They have a lot of money, but not for the most important things,” he told reporters.
The Barcelona goalkeeper also wasn’t happy with Real Madrid’s first goal which came from the penalty spot after Lucas Vazquez went over Pau Cubarsi’s outstretched leg.
“Lucas Vázquez was intelligent in the penalty, I think he tried to look for it,” he said.
Madrid went on to win the game 3-2 to move 11 points clear at the top of the table with just six games left to play.
