Arsenal will reportedly begin negotiations with midfielder Mohamed Elneny in an attempt to convince the Egyptian to sign a new contract.
Elneny will become a free agent at the end of next season, which will also see forward Eddie Nketiah and striker Alexandre Lacazette become free agents. All three players could leave Arsenal for free.
Mikel Arteta recently signed a new long-term contract with Arsenal, now according to The Athletic, elneny is in talks with the club about extending his deal—and it is hoped an agreement can be found for him.
Mohamed Elneny struggled to get playing time under previous manager Unai Emery, which led the Egyptian to join Besiktas on loan three years ago.
Under current coach Mikel Arteta, Elneny has emerged as an important member of the team’s core, his character and experience are valued highly by Mikel Arteta.
The club’s board is in talks with the star to extend his stay at the Emirates but the management has made it clear that they want to keep him at the club.
