Long-term CHELSEA target Jonathan David has issued a clear transfer message to the likes of Chelsea.
The Canadian forward has emerged as a potential transfer target for Chelsea over the past few months, as the Blues will be desperate to add a new striker to that attack when the summer transfer window opens up.
Ivan Toney of Brentford and Victor Osimhen of Napoli are two other players that we are interested in – but David would represent a cheaper alternative to the other two as his valuations is only about £50 million.
However – amid all the speculation and rumours regarding his future – David provided an update on his future during his latest interview with French media lavoixdunord.
“I have a year left in my contract and frankly, I am not thinking about it. There were rumours in the past, but I will stay at Lille until I sign for another club,” said the Canadian striker.
His contract with Lille runs out in June 2025 but the striker is not aware of negotiations between his agent and the club.
“I don’t know if the club has spoken to my agent,” he said.
“Surely we’ll do it at the end of the season. There are important games remaining, and I want to focus on the pitch.”
