The injury blows just keep on coming for Man United, with Scott McTominay the latest to go down with a problem…
Manchester United were lucky. Let’s have it right. The Red Devils didn’t deserve to beat Coventry City when all was said and done, but they’re now in another FA Cup final.
No doubt injuries have played their part this season. Erik ten Hag has effectively been working with one hand tied behind his back for large portions of the season. That has been the case again this week.
Before the game, Willy Kambwala, Mason Mount and Sofyan Amrabat all went down with injuries. During the match, Marcus Rashford picked up an issue, while Harry Maguire played through pain.
Now, Fabrizio Romano has confirmed another blow, with United midfielder, Scott McTominay, picking up an issue against Coventry. That’s now the 65th case of injury during the campaign. A staggering number.

Honestly, it’s just mad. No club of United’s stature should be suffering like this. As things stand, it feels more than just bad luck to me. Surely the club are doing something majorly wrong here, which is causing more injuries than is normal.
I understand players now play more games than ever before, but no other side is in this position. Perhaps it’s on Ten Hag for overworking his players in training. Maybe it’s on the players for not looking after their bodies properly. At this point, I just don’t know anymore…
What I do know is that this cannot continue. United have to identify the problem sooner rather than later. Next season, whoever the manager is, needs to be working with a fully fit squad.
