Barcelona legend Carles Puyol says Moises Caicedo has the ‘quality and talent’ to do ‘important things’ for CHELSEA.
Caicedo was one of the most talked about players of the summer window, as a number of clubs were reportedly interested in a deal for the midfielder after he had impressive season last year.
However – it was us that decided to splash the big cash and take him to Stamford Bridge in a deal that cost the club £100 million, which is not including the amount of wages and sign on fees.
He has not been impressive at all in that shirt – but according to Puyol – Caicedo has the ‘quality and talent’ to do ‘important things’ for Chelsea.
‘He’s a great player,’ former Barcelona and Spain defender Puyol told Ecuadorian outlet El Universo when asked for his thoughts on Caicedo.
‘I think he has the necessary quality, the necessary talent to be able to do important things. But the most important thing is that he’s in a great team where he can grow a lot.’
Ally McCoist recently named star Moises Caicedo as his transfer flop of the season:
“He’s nothing like the signing everybody thought he would be but I’m not giving him flop of the season so far.
“I think that’s just ever-so-slightly harsh..”
Discussing Caicedo, the Scottish football legend said: “I’ve got to say, I saw him a couple of times, particularly at Old Trafford him and Enzo Fernandez – both of them, to be honest with you – a quarter of a billion pounds…
“Caicedo would certainly get my vote before Onana, to be honest with you.”
