Man United are ready to allow Christian Eriksen to depart the Red Devils this summer.
Manchester United are undergoing major change at present. Both off and on the field. The Red Devils, fronted by their new part-owners, are gearing up towards what could be a huge summer.
INEOS will want to send off positive vibes to the supporters, with fans wanting to believe in this club once again. An astute summer transfer window could do exactly that.
In order to generate extra funds, it does feel like some players will be moved on. The dressing room is looking a little overinflated with guys on higher wages than their talents probably deserve. That absolutely has to change.
One man who is actively looking to get out is Christian Eriksen. Not too long ago, we covered a claim detailing his unhappiness at the Theatre of Dreams.
Now, Football Insider have provided a further update on Eriksen, claiming that United are ‘willing to let’ the player ‘quit’ the club this summer, over his aforementioned unhappiness due a lack of playing time.
Eriksen has slid behind both Soctt McTominay and Kobbie Mainoo in the pecking order. You can also assume Mason Mount will be preferred upon his return from injury.
Eriksen’s current deal expires in 2025, so this may well be United’s last chance to get some sort of transfer fee back for the Dane. According to Football Insider’s sources, the Saudi Pro League is ‘monitoring’ Eriksen’s situation. It remains to be seen whether he’d be keen on a move out there.
I like Eriksen. I think he’s a solid player and I would be open to keeping him around. However, you get the impression that he’s pushing to leave, in order to start regularly at this stage of his career. It would be a shame to see him leave, but it does feel like it’s heading in that direction.
