Man United are interested in AFC Bournemouth left-back, Milos Kerkez.
Manchester United’s injury issues have been well documented this season, with the Red Devils dealing with major problems for pretty much the whole season.
The Old Trafford side have had to cope without Tyrell Malacia for the duration of the campaign, while it’s now unlikely the Dutchman will return before the end of the season.
Alongside Malacia’s injury issues, Luke Shaw has also gone down a couple of times with semi-serious problems. The Englishman has dealt with injuries for the duration of his Red Devils career, so it should come as no surprise if we’re being honest.
As a result, the club are now being linked with a move to bring in a new left-back of some description this coming summer. It does make sense, as Erik ten Hag looks to find some consistency in that area of the field.
The latest claim comes from The Mirror, who link the Red Devils with a move to bring in Milos Kerkez.
Kerkez, a Hungary international, currently plies his trade for AFC Bournemouth, after signing for The Cherries last summer in a deal worth around £15m.
The Mirror, citing The Metro, state that United are ‘battling’ for the signature of the 20-year-old left-back, with Chelsea also pushing to sign Kerkez, providing some Premier League competition.
Kerkez has impressed during his debut campaign in England, while it’s no surprise to see some of the so-called bigger clubs linked with a move to bring him in.
However, that will come at a price. Bournemouth will no doubt be looking for a significant return on their £15m investment in Kerkez, in a deal where they could easily double their money over a twelve-month period.
This isn’t the first time United have been credited with interest in Kerkez, so I can see some truth in the rumour as the story starts to ramp up.
