Here are our player ratings, as Man United hosted Sheffield United at Old Trafford this evening.
Andre Onana – Made a critical mistake which allowed Sheffield United to take an early lead. Had a quiet night aside from that. 4/10
Diogo Dalot – Moved back to the left-hand side of defence. Had a couple of big opportunities to score. An average game for the Portuguese. 5/10
Harry Maguire – Grabbed United’s first goal with a lovely, well-placed header. Defended well enough. 7/10
Casemiro – Still looked a little off the pace at times. Did well considering he was out of position. 5/10
Aaron Wan-Bissaka – He looks far more comfortable as a right-back. Defensively solid. Offered little in attack. 5/10
Kobbie Mainoo – Steady and composed. Always made the right decision when on the ball. Tried to get forward. 5/10
Christian Eriksen – Drifted in and out of the game. Was largely a passenger rather than a focal point of United’s play. 5/10
Bruno Fernandes – Comfortably the best player on the pitch. Scored two fantastic goals, the second in particular was a pearler. Picked up an assist too. 8/10
Alejandro Garnacho – Missed a couple of really big opportunities. Always worked hard and looked to threaten the Sheffield defence. 5/10
Antony – Had a pretty quiet evening under the Old Trafford floodlights. 4/10
Rasmus Hojlund – Scored his first goal in a while. A confidence-booster. Led the line well.
Subs:
Amad – Was somewhat careless when in possession.
Scott McTominay – Overcame injury to play a part.
Sofyan Amrabat – Came on to help see the game out.
Ethan Wheatley – Handed his full debut. What a moment.
