Man United links to Juventus defender, Gleison Bremer, are not going away…
Manchester United Football Club are set for their first summer transfer window under INEOS’ control. Sir Jim Ratcliffe will no doubt be looking to set the tone with some positive moves being made – both incoming and outgoing.
Several names have already been linked with a potential Old Trafford switch this summer. Juventus defender, Gleison Bremer, is among them.
Now, Il Bianconero have provided the latest on those claims, with Sport Witness relaying the information. It’s stated that United have scouted the defender ‘several times’ this season.
Apparently, United have been ‘particularly active’ with the entourage of the 26-year-old, amid those consistent transfer links.
Juventus, understandably, don’t want to be caught short in the event that United firm up their interest for Bremer with an official bid, hence, they themselves are looking at a move to bring in Ousmane Diomande from Sporting CP. That alone adds extra credence to the seriousness of United’s keenness on Bremer.
The Brazil international is not going to come cheaply, with an expected transfer cost of at least £50m required to sign Bremer. Obviously, that would represent a large chunk of the transfer budget, though you do get the impression that a new centre-back is an absolute necessity.
Lisandro Martinez’s injury issues cannot be ignored. Raphael Varane struggles to play more than one game a week. Victor Lindelof and Harry Maguire will continue to be inconsistent. I’d argue this is the top need going into a hugely important summer.
Bremer is a genuinely quality footballer who’d add an awful lot of ability to a back line that has shipped goals galore this season. It feels like a no-brainer…
