Man United are looking to sign Tosin Adarabioyo from Fulham this summer, with the defender available on a free.
As we gear up to what is arguably Manchester United’s most important transfer window in about a decade, the transfer stories are ramping up.
The Old Trafford club, now under the control of INEOS, are hoping to make a positive impression on the fans, who are looking to see their side return to the top.
Money is tighter than you’d like, so this could be a summer without any marquee signings – unless big money is generated through player sales.
Among the names linked with a potential Old Trafford switch is Fulham’s Tosin Adarabioyo. It makes sense, his contract expires this summer and he has Premier League experience.
ESPN have provided the latest on that front, claiming United are ‘interested’ in signing the 26-year-old centre-back this summer. This would be a free transfer if the move was to happen.
The Reds will face competition for the signature of Adarabioyo, with Newcastle United, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur all showing an interest in the Manchester-born centre-half.
United have struggled for any sort of consistency at centre-back this season, with injuries galore decimating that area of the field. Adarabioyo would allow the Reds to become younger at the key position, while hopefully, adding some extra quality to the back line.
New Technical Director Jason Wilcox could well be the mastermind behind this move, as he knows Adarabioyo well from their time together at Manchester City.
With doubts surrounding the future of Jonny Evans, Raphael Varane, Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof, a move for Adarabioyo makes perfect sense. He’d be a key signing and an excellent replacement for any of the aforementioned foursome.
