Here is a roundup of the top Chelsea news and gossip from us that we think you guys may have missed –
Elye Wahi reportedly wants to join Mauricio Pochettino’s CHELSEA in the summer transfer window after agreeing terms over a move.
The club have been doing alot of transfer business already this summer – with some high-profile players leaving the club and a few big names making the move to Stamford Bridge.
But their transfer business is not done and it widely expected that a new centre-forward will make the move to London – especially as the club really struggled to score goals on a weekly basis last season.
And Dusan Vlahovic – who only moved to Juventus last summer – is a player that has been heavily tipped to leave the Italians this summer after they missed out on Champions League football.
However – his salary demands seem to be too high for the club and now it looks like they are now interested in signing the exciting Wahi this summer transfer window.
WHAT IS THE LATEST –
Atletico Madrid and Eintracht Frankfurt are also keen on securing the services of the France Under-21 international striker in the summer transfer window.
But The Times has claimed that Wahi “has agreed personal terms with CHELSEA”.
WILL HE BE A GOOD SIGNING?
He is very young – he has alot to learn and the Premier League is not for everybody – so yes he would be a massive risk.
He has a bright future in the game and in a couple of years he may be ready to lead the clubs attack – so in that sense – he will be a good investment for the club.
POCH MAKES MAATSEN CLAIM –
Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed that he plans to keep defender Ian Maatsen at CHELSEA this summer window
Maatsen had a very good season with Burnley last year and impressed while out on loan – so much so – that the club wanted to make his move away from stamford Bridge a permanent one.
However – he has a desire to stay and fight for his place at Stamford Bridge- despite the fact he has plenty of competition on the clubs pre-season tour up against the likes of Ben Chilwell, Marc Cucurella and Lewis Hall.
And It is fair to say the Argentinian likes what he has seen, having selected the young Dutchman in his starting line-up for all three of clubs games in America so far, making use of his versatility.
Now Pochettino has opened up and revealed that he plans on keeping Maatsen at the club this summer – as he will be part of his plans going forward.
WHAT HAS BEEN SAID –
‘I am so happy with him,’ said Pochettino, ‘He is a player that can play in different positions. He has quality, he understands the game, and he is such a clever player.’
‘So far, he is in my plan, yes,’ confirmed Pochettino. ‘I am so pleased with him, as I’ve said, because of his attitude, commitment and his understanding of the game.
‘He is a player that you can use in different positions and that is a good thing for the team and the coaching staff. It is always good to have this type of player.’
RIGHT DECISION TO KEEP MAATSEN?
The lad has been very impressive for the club this summer – and the fact he is able to play in a number of positions means that Pochettino can use him more regularly.
CHELSEA WANT OLISE –
CHELSEA are genuinely interested in signing Michael Olise from Crystal Palace this summer, that is according to the hugely reliable David Ornstein
There are still a few weeks left of the summer transfer window and Mauricio Pochettino is looking to get one or two final deals done to complete his summer of signing.
The Boss is also keen to get rid of a few players this transfer windows as that Blues squad is simply too big – so until that happens – those new players will not be able to complete a move to Stamford Bridge.
However that has not stopped the speculation that the club are looking at wrapping up another transfer signing.
WHAT IS THE LATEST –
a story from RMC Sport in France claimed that we made a £39m bid for the Crystal Palace No.7 in the last few days, But while Ornstein denied claims that an offer has been made, he did confirm that the club hold a “concrete” interest in Olise.
The Athletic’s Football Correspondent told Rio Ferdinand’s FIVE YouTube channel: “I was led to believe a bid has not come in for Michael Olise but Chelsea do have concrete interest.”
SHOULD CHELSEA SIGN OLISE?
All the wingers, all that attacking quality that Pochettino now has at the club – we simply cannot see where Olise would fit into that starting squad at Stamford Bridge.
He is a man that is predominately a winger and we are already stocked in that department – so right now, he is not needed.
