Barcelona will have to cope without Lamine Yamal on Sunday when they take on Barbastro in the Copa del Rey third round.
The teenager is banned for the game after being sent off playing in the Copa del Rey Juvenil last year for the youth team.
Yamal will therefore have to sit this one out which is likely to be a blow as he could well have been handed a start as Xavi looks to rotate his side.
The Barcelona boss confirmed the news at his pre-match press conference.
“Lamine has known for a long time that he carries a suspension from last year’s Málaga youth team. He has a two-match ban,” he told reporters.
Xavi will also be without injured stars Joao Cancelo, Gavi, Pedri and Marc-Andre ter Stegen for the game and will be expected to rest some of his key stars for the match.
The Barcelona boss could also hand some of his younger players the chance to impress in the game against fourth-tier opposition.
New signing Vitor Roque could get his first start, while youngsters such as Hector Fort, Marc Casado and Fermin Lopez will also be hoping to for a place in the XI.
