Omari Forson will not be involved for Man United vs Everton, with the young attacker picking up an injury.
We’re getting rather frustrated with constantly talking about the latest Manchester United player to suffer an injury, yet here we are again on the eve of a game with a fresh problem…
At what point do we stop putting this down to bad luck and start to look deeper? Surely nobody is this unfortunate?
Anyway, this time around it’s Omari Forson who is down with an issue.
Erik ten Hag would confirm the injury blow during his pre-match press conference, ahead of the Everton game tomorrow. The young winger, who started against Fulham, has ‘dropped out’ with an unspecified problem.
The severity, or the area affected, was not disclosed by the gaffer, just that Forson will miss this game.
Here’s what the gaffer had to say on Omari Forson in full here:
“For the rest it is the same squad, apart from Omari Forson. He dropped out. He has an injury.” Ten Hag told ManUtd.com.
This comes at a truly unfortunate time for Forson who is trying to make a name for himself this season. With a contract that’s winding down this summer and no resolution in sight, this could swing the pendulum back in United’s favour as negotiations continue. As the old saying goes, availability is reliability.
For Forson, you cannot help but feel a golden chance has gone. With injuries in the final third, there’s every chance Forson would have played some more meaningful minutes in front of the Old Trafford crowd tomorrow. Now that’s not the case. It could be the opening that someone like Amad needs, mind…
From what I’ve seen of Forson, there’s a talented player in there. He looked good during pre-season tour, if still a little raw. I’d personally hope that he and the club can agree to some sort of multi-year deal, including a loan move next season as he looks to continue his development as a player. It will be intriguing to see how INEOS allow this situation to play out, though, as it’s one of their first major decisions.
