CHELSEA are close to securing the signing of Monaco defender Axel Disasi after agreeing a deal in principle worth €45million (£38m).
The club have done some great transfer business this summer and added some very good attacking players – but Mauricio Pochettino is keen to add a full-back to the side after the injury to Wesley Fofana and the departure of Cesare Azpilicueta.
That has led to so much speculation about who the club could sign this transfer window – but now it seems that we are about to complete another summer signing.
WHAT IS THE LATEST –
The Athletic reports that the board now look like his next port of call after the club agreed a £38m fee for the right-sided central defender.
The 25-year-old mad his professional debut for Paris FC, moved on to Reims and has been at Monaco since 2020, being a regular in the team for the last three seasons, scoring 10 goals in 129 games across all competitions.
WILL HE BE A GOOD SIGNING FOR CHELSEA ?
The man is a real unit – he really is a big and powerful defender that has all the attributes to be a real star in the Premier League.
If the reports are true and we are on the verge of signing Disasi this summer – they will be getting a defender that could be the ideal man to take over from Thiago Silva.
However – his ball play in not that good and he is more of a Kalidou Koulibaly player.
