Marc Guehi is being considered by CHELSEA as a potential option after Wesley Fofana’s injury.
In a statement posted on the club’s website, the club revealed Fofana did not travel to America for the club’s pre-season tour due to specialist medical assessments, which unfortunately confirmed that an operation would be required.
The 22-year-old has been in recovery at Cobham ahead of another lengthy spell on the sidelines, which means the Blues will now need to delve into that transfer kitty to sign a new defender.
The Blues posted: ‘Defender Wesley Fofana has undergone anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction surgery.

WHAT IS THE LATEST –
And according to reports – the west Londoners have started looking for possible replacements for Fofana and are now interested in a move for sign Crystal Palace star Marc Guehi.
According to the Football insider, The England international has been linked with a move to Tottenham but we have a first-buy option after Palace snapped him up in 2021 for £18million.
WILL CHELSEA SPEND BIG MONEY?
The club have done some pretty decent business this transfer window – but they already needed to sign a new defender before the injury to Fofana – so this will mean that the club will step up that chase.
Guehi is regarded as one of the best young central defenders in the Premier League so if we were able to sign the lad – he would be a massive signing for the club that is for sure.
