Jay Bothroyd says Mauricio Pochettino’s CHELSEA will secure a transfer deal for Brighton star Moises Caicedo
Caicedo is the one player that the club have been chasing all summer window bit have so far failed to agree a fee with Brighton over a deal for the talented midfielder.
It has been claimed on numerous occasions that we are not willing to go above £80 million to sign the midfielder – but Brighton are playing hard-ball and will not go below their £100 million asking price.
However – amid all the speculation and rumours – Bothroyd has opened up and claimed that he is very confident that the board will complete the signing of Caicedo this summer window.
WHAT HAS BEEN SAID –
“I don’t think he can do what he did before,” said Bothroyd. “He has to be disciplined. He has to let his representatives deal with it and just play his football.
“I think the deal will happen (for CHELSEA). Rather than Declan Rice disrupting the market. I think it was Enzo Fernandez. If he hadn’t gone for that kind of money, then maybe Declan Rice wouldn’t have even gone for that kind of money, which then goes onto Caicedo. I think a deal will get done for around £85-90 million.
“From the player’s point of view, you want to be on the biggest stage, the biggest clubs and playing in the Champions League.”
SHOULD CHELSEA PAY THE MONEY TO SIGN CAICEDO –
Caicedo is certainly one for the future and he is certainly a player that the club believe can do big things.
The board have been silly with their money in recent windows – but in the case of Caicedo – we should walk away from the deal as he is not worth the money that is being talked about.
