Arsenal have reportedly held negotiations with Serie A side, Fiorentina as they look to land their talisman ahead of the January transfer window.
However, Dusan Vlahovic may not want to join the London giants as he waits for a team playing in the Champions League.
The in-demand Fiorentina centre-forward does have plenty of high-profile clubs chasing his signature, with a move in the pipeline for the summer transfer window.
The Serbia international is one of the premium strikers likely to be available for a transfer in the upcoming windows.
Naturally, his ambition is to play for one of the biggest teams in Europe. There is a particularly heavy interest stemming from PL teams for Vlahovic, and an intense transfer battle could be on the cards.
The Gunners took the initiative early on to open discussions with La Viola over a move, as Arsenal wanted to understand the dynamics of a deal.

They were supposedly prepared to pay nearly €80m for Dusan, although La Viola, in light of the demand for the striker, are ready to demand close to €100m.
Arsenal would ideally wait until the summer as his asking price could decrease substantially.
However, to protect their interest, a move in winter by paying a premium price is also a possibility the Gunners are considering.
But, the 21-year-old striker and his camp have second thoughts about moving to Arsenal.

It is understood that Vlahovic wants to explore concrete offers before taking a call on his future, as the striker would prefer to join a club playing in and challenging for the Champions League, such as Man City.
