Antonio Rudiger, a Chelsea centre-back, is on the verge of leaving the club after agreeing to terms with Serie A giants Juventus. According to Sun Sport, the center back has agreed to a four-year contract with Juventus.
After holding negotiations with the Turin-based giants, the 29-year-old Germany international’s current Blues term is nearing to an end, and possibilities of a contract extension appear to be all but gone. Rudiger has established himself as one of Chelsea’s most important players since Thomas Tuchel took over for Frank Lampard in January of last year.
Despite Rudiger’s status as one of Chelsea’s most visible and vociferous figures, the club’s management has failed to recognize him.
“It’s common knowledge that the media likes to add a little more salt and pepper to rumors in order to make the headline a little more explosive and bigger,” Rudiger continued. “As a result, you will not hear from me until I make a final choice.”
“At Chelsea, we still have a lot of work to do this season, and my whole focus right now is on the City game.” Everything else is now being handled by my agent.”
Rudiger has already won a Champions League trophy with Chelsea, and he might win another this season as the Blues prepare to face Real Madrid in the quarterfinals.
