Arsenal star Leandro Trossard has aimed a dig at Brighton & Hove Albion by saying that he has learned a lot tactically since his move to the Gunners.

The Belgian was a surprise signing for the north London giants last winter. He joined the club for £21 million up front after they missed out on purchasing Mykhailo Mudryk.

The 28-year-old has since been a revelation with seven goals and 12 assists from just 36 games. He has averaged a goal contribution in every 88 minutes for the Gunners.

In an interview with Het Laatste Nieuws, Trossard has now said that he is very satisfied with his performance at Arsenal and wants to make it difficult for the manager to drop him.

He said: “I am very satisfied with my performance at Arsenal. We are doing well, and I am happy that I can contribute to that. A permanent starting place? I don’t think anything needs to improve. I am doing well and can’t do more then make it as difficult as possible for the coach.”

The Belgian attacker added that he does have any preferential position and went on to emphasise that he has made more progress in terms of watching football under Mikel Arteta.

Trossard also aimed a dig at his former employers by saying that the playing style is very different and the football is fantastic. The forward believes he has learned a lot tactically.

He added: “For me it doesn’t really matter where the coach puts me. I have played just about everywhere in recent years. Where the coach puts me, I will play my match. I don’t really have a preference. Pressing occurs with both Arteta and Tedesco.”

“They both want to win the ball as high as possible on the pitch in order to create chances. Under Arteta I have made the most progress in terms of watching football. The playing style is very different from Brighton. The way we play football is fantastic. I have learned a lot tactically.”

Trossard has been one of Arsenal’s best-ever signings

The former Brighton man has yet to complete a year with the Gunners but he is already a firm favourite for the fans. Last season, he registered one goal and 10 assists in all competitions.

This campaign, he has been among the goals. The Belgian has scored on six occasions alongside two assists. His versatility to play anywhere in attack has largely benefitted the club.

He has already become one of the best-ever signings made. Trossard will be hoping to cement his spot up front by continuing his impressive run of form in the current campaign.

Trossard started the season as a super-sub for the Gunners with crucial goals off the bench, but he has made the first XI in the last two outings, making three goal contributions.
