Manchester City Make Move For Bukayo Saka As Pep Guardiola Eye £58M Transfer
Manchester City are poised to go toe-to-toe with Liverpool in pursuit of Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka if the Gunners fail to qualify for next season’s Champions League.
That is according to a report by ESPN, who claim that City will consider a move for the England international if Mikel Arteta’s side fail to secure a top-four finish.
Saka, who has developed at a rapid rate of knots since making his senior debut for the Gunners in November 2018, has been nothing short of outstanding this season, racking up seven goals and four assists in all competitions.
The winger, who can also play at left-back if needed to, has been a ray of light in what has been a dark couple of years for the north London club and he is, unsurprisingly, attracting plenty of interest.
The report states that both City and Liverpool are ‘watching’ the 20-year-old’s progress and will consider a move for him if Arsenal fail to end their Champions League exile next season.
Saka, since making the step up to the first-team fold, has racked up 114 appearances for Arsenal to date, scoring 18 goals and claiming 25 assists.
