Man United have joined in the hunt to sign RB Leipzig’s versatile attacker, Dani Olmo.
The Manchester United transfer stories are now starting to ramp up. The Old Trafford club need to continue to overhaul this playing squad. First and foremost, players have to leave, though money will also have to be spent wisely, due to FFP and Premier League Sustainability and Profitability rules.
As is always the case, the Red Devils are always linked with the marquee names, purely because only a handful of clubs can afford these players. Under INEOS, though, I’m expecting to see United take a more cautious approach.
The latest rumour falls somewhere in the middle of the two, linking Dani Olmo with a potential United switch.
It’s the Daily Mail with the story. In their headline, they claim United ‘enter the race’ to sign Olmo. Apparently, the Old Trafford side are ‘maintaining a watching brief’ on the 25-year-old attacker.
Olmo has a £52m release clause that becomes active this summer, with the RB Leipzig player putting in some stellar performances again this season.
Manchester City, Chelsea, Tottenham and Real Madrid are also keeping a watchful eye on Olmo’s progress. That alone should tell you everything you need to know about his talent levels and ability.
Olmo’s versatility is his biggest selling point. He can play on either wing, in the #10 position or even as a striker if necessary.
The Spain international’s current contract expires in 2027, having recently penned a new deal just last summer.
United are ‘looking to improve’ their ‘attacking’ and ‘creative’ options this summer, while Olmo will be a player of interest depending on their budget.
