Arsenal attacker Leandro Trossard continued his good form with an impressive showing for Belgium in their Euro 2024 qualifier against Azerbaijan on Sunday.

The 28-year-old has been in sublime touch over the past couple of weeks and he got the nod in the starting line-up from Domenico Tedesco yesterday.

Romelu Lukaku made the headlines with his four goals in the 5-0 victory, but Trossard was also exceptional from the left wing over the course of 90 minutes.

The Gunners ace had 80 touches and created four key passes. He also won four take-ons alongside three long balls and eventually scored the final goal for Belgium.

Trossard’s form bodes well for Arsenal going forward

The Belgian impressed for the Gunners before the international break. He scored against Sevilla and replicated the same versus Burnley with a brave header at the back post.

Trossard added another assist for William Saliba during the game. With Gabriel Jesus back to full fitness, manager Mikel Arteta now has a selection headache on his hands.

Jesus starred with a goal and assist versus Sevilla on the road before his hamstring injury. He is expected to play for Brazil this week and will be knocking on Arteta’s door.

In our view, the manager should stick with Trossard for the trip to Brentford this weekend. The €35 million-rated star needs to continue his scoring run to keep Jesus out of the starting line-up.

Arsenal face Luton Town and Wolverhampton Wanderers in the league after the Bees clash and have an opportunity to move to the top, considering Manchester City’s testing schedule.

Pep Guardiola’s side face Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa in their next three league games. The Gunners are currently one point behind the current table-toppers.
