The Derby d’Italia returns for yet another significant repetition on Sunday night as Simone Inzaghi’s unsteady Inter Milan travel to Turin.
Defending champions Inter and former champions Juventus take on each other this Sunday at the Allianz Stadium, and it goes without thinkinng that the fixture is going to be one of the most anticipated games of the season.
Juventus will have scores to settle, as they were stopped in their tracks by the Milan team, before being able to lift the Serie A crown for the tenth straight time.
Massimiliano Allegri’s Juventus head into the derby having extended their unbeaten run in Serie A to 16 games before the break with a 2-0 win over Salernitana. The Bianconeri’s impressive domestic run has heaped the pressure on the top three. So much so that Juve will usurp Inter in the table with a win on Sunday.
Meanwhile, Inter Milan are desperate to catch up to arch-rivals AC Milan. They are trailing by six points, but do have a match-up in hand. As such, they are under pressure to make this upcoming encounter count.
By all means, expect a fierce encounter, and possibly goals in plenty too.

TEAM NEWS
Juventus’s Dusan Vlahovic returned to Continassa during the international break after picking up a minor injury, but the Serb status for the derby isn’t in doubt. Paulo Dybala is also in contention to start.
Denis Zakaria and Alex Sandro have also returned from their respective injuries over the break, although the latter’s status in the matchday squad isn’t guaranteed.
Leonardo Bonucci’s status is unknown, with Matthijs de Ligt set to be partnered by either Giorgio Chiellini or Daniele Rugani in defence.
Federico Chiesa, Weston McKennie and Kaio Jorge are all long-term absentees.
For Inter Milan, crucially, Marcelo Brozovic is expected to make the trip to Turin having missed Inter’s last two outings with a calf injury. The Croatian is poised to make his full return to training ahead of the weekend.
Stefan De Vrij, however, will miss Sunday’s game having suffered a more serious calf injury than Brozovic. That means either Danilo D’Ambrosio or Andrea Ranocchia will join Milan Skriniar and Alessandro Bastoni in Inzaghi’s three-man defence.
Otherwise, the Nerazzurri are fully fit. Denzel Dumfries and Ivan Perisic will continue at wing-back, while Edin Dzeko, Lautaro Martinez and Alexis Sanchez are vying for two spots up front.
Predicted Lineups
Juventus: Szczesny; Danilo, De Ligt, Rugani, De Sciglio; Cuadrado, Arthur, Locatelli, Rabiot; Dybala, Vlahovic.
Inter Milan: Handanovic; D’Ambrosio, Skriniar, Bastoni; Dumfries, Barella, Brozovic, Calhanoglu, Perisic; Lautaro, Dzeko.
Simone Inzaghi’s side have only been involved in one league game with more than two goals across 90 minutes in 2022, while Juventus have only had three Serie A matches with over three goals in total in the same period. However, both sides have enjoyed a solid record of goals per game, with Juve scoring at least once in their last seven league games and Inter on target in six of their last eight league outings.
That goals-per-game return indicates both sides should get on the scoresheet in this tie, particularly with Serie A top scorer Dusan Vlahovic facing off against Lautaro Martinez. A 1-1 draw looks to be a real option at the Juventus Stadium with two of their last six league meetings ending in that scoreline, with Max Allergi’s side going on to win the title in 2019 and Inter doing the same in 2021.
