Arsenal returned to winning ways in the Premier League yesterday with a 3-1 victory against Burnley at Emirates Stadium following last weekend’s controversial 1-0 loss to Newcastle United.

Goals from Leandro Trossard, William Saliba and Oleksandr Zinchenko got the job done for the Gunners, and Fabio Vieira’s 83rd-minute red card could not stop them from picking up all three points.

The Ukraine international defender put the minds of Arsenal fans to rest with his first goal of the campaign as Burnley were looking to bounce back again after Josh Brownhill had cancelled out Trossard’s strike, and his technique for the goal was brilliant.

The acrobatic finish clearly blew Jurrien Timber away as the Netherlands international reacted to it on Instagram with an emoji that said it all.

Zinchenko does not score all the time, but his finish yesterday showed that he can regularly do so if he keeps finding himself in excellent positions.

Arsenal need goals from every department to boost their chances of winning the Premier League title, and having two defenders scoring on Saturday is good for them.

The result saw them move level on points with leaders Manchester City and they will be feeling confident of their chances of challenging the reigning champions this term.

Arsenal have suffered loads of injuries this season and the international break could not have come at a better time.

They resume action on November 25 with a trip to Gtech Community Stadium to face Brentford, and manager Mikel Arteta will be desperate for some injury boosts.

The Gunners need all the squad depth they can get if they are to win major silverware this term, and the frequent knocks are not helping matters.

They will be forced to bolster their ranks during the January transfer window, and they have to get their recruitment right to avoid another disappointment at the end of the season.
