Frenkie de Jong has agreed to join Manchester United after speaking with manager Erik ten Hag and former player Daley Blind (amongst others).
Sources have told Praizsports that Barcelona are Man United are currently £18 million apart on the transfer fee for De Jong. However, the Premier League club are confident and hopeful of securing a deal this month.
Manchester United has offered Barcelona £68.3 million for the transfer of the 25 year old. The deal would include a guaranteed payment of £51.2 million, with a further £17 million in performance bonuses. However, Barcelona are holding out for an additional £18 million.
The Red Devils have been chasing the Netherlands midfielder for quite some time, and he finally gave his ‘yes’ after receiving enough convincing. However, it’s still not a done deal.
Barcelona are reportedly willing to offload the midfielder in order to help improve their current economic situation. De Jong, who could be reunited with former Ajax boss Erik ten Hag, has scored 13 goals in 139 appearances for Barcelona.
