Portugal moved up to the top spot of their Group after a convincing victory against the Czech Republic.
Very early in the game, there was a big collision between the Czech shot-stopper Tomas Vaclik and Cristiano Ronaldo, with the latter ending up with a broken nose.
Luckily, he was able to get it bandaged and returned to the pitch.
After 32 minutes without a shot from either side, Portugal finally broke the deadlock through Diogo Dalot.
The Manchester United Right Back was in the right place at the right time to tap home from Leao’s delivery.
In the 2nd minute of additional time in the first half, another Manchester United got his name on the board.
This time, it was Bruno Fernandes’s turn to get in on the act, as he burst past two defenders in the box to beat Vaclik from close range.
More drama in the closing stage of the half, as Ronaldo was adjudged to have handled the ball in his box, resulting in a penalty for the host.
The returning Patrik Schick stepped up to take the penalty, but his shot, unfortunately, hit the post.
After the break, Portugal came out as fired as they were in the first and it didn’t take long for them to add another.
In the 52nd minute, Diogo Dalot made it 3-0 for the team and gave himself a brace, receiving a pass from fellow Red Devil teammate Bruno Fernandes before hammering a 20-yard shot to the bottom left corner.
Diogo Jota killed the game in the 82nd minute, heading past Vaclik, courtesy of a Ronaldo header.
As it stands, Portugal sits at the top of their Group with 10 points, two higher than Spain, who lost their match against Switzerland.
The winner of the group will be decided when the two clash heads on Tuesday.
