CHELSEA are in talks with New England Revolution over the signing of goalkeeper Djorde Petrovic, it has been claimed in the media.
Once again, this transfer window – the club have been the biggest spenders and have managed to bring in the likes of Christopher Nkunku, Nicolas Jackson, Robert Sanchez, Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia to name a few.
However – the transfer window still has a few days to go until the door shuts and there is alot of speculation about who else Mauricio Pochettino wants to bring in over the next few days.
The Blues are in the market for a ‘keeper following the departures of Edouard Mendy to Al Ahli on a permanent deal and Kepa Arrizabalaga’s loan move to Real Madrid.
WHAT IS THE LATEST –
Reports on the sun website have claimed that the board are now in deep talks over a deal for Petrovic.
The 23-year-old Serbian international joined New England two years ago from FK Cukaricki and is already regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in Major League Soccer.
He has made 48 appearances for New England since replacing USMNT’s No. 1 goalkeeper Matt Turner following his move to Arsenal.
The fee for the 23-year-old Serbia international is understood to be around £12m.
WOULD HE BE A GOOD SIGNING FOR CHELSEA?
Another day and another player that is looking to get signed by the club that has no place in that squad – do the board even know what they are doing or are they just signing every player on the market?
We now need players that will make a difference.
