After Sunday’s mouth-watering Premier League showdown against fierce rivals Manchester United, a large chunk of Arsenal players will engage in the upcoming international break.

Mikel Arteta’s men have racked up two wins and a draw in their opening three league fixtures and will be eager to maintain their stellar start to the season before September’s international break.

Here, we look at the Gunners players expected to represent their countries over the next fortnight.

England

Gareth Southgate’s rampant England side will play Ukraine in their forthcoming Euro 2024 qualifier, hellbent on maintaining a 100% winning run in qualifying Group C (W4).

After that, the Three Lions will lock horns with neighbours Scotland in an international friendly, with four Arsenal players making Southgate’s squad this month.

Fresh off being named PFA men’s Young Player of the Year (via Arsenal.com), Bukayo Saka is ready to help England stay the course against Ukraine, a side he scored a stunning goal against at Wembley in the reverse fixture.

Marquee summer arrival Declan Rice will hold the keys in the middle of the park, while Eddie Nketiah is in line for his international debut after being handed his maiden call-up.

Aaron Ramsdale should be Jordan Pickford’s back-up option.

Other call-ups

Oleksandr Zinchenko will be keen to fend off his Arsenal teammates when Ukraine entertain England at Tarczynski Arena in Wroclaw, Poland, on September 9.

Gabriel Martinelli has retained his place in the Brazil squad under caretaker boss Fernando Diniz for the upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Bolivia (H) and Peru (A).

But the other two Gabriels, Magalhaes and Jesus, will have to earn their place in the star-studded Selecao line-up in the future.

Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard will have to be at his best if Norway are to gain a foothold in Euro 2024 qualifying Group A in a runner-up six-pointer against Georgia on September 12.

The Norwegians will warm up for that crunch meeting with a low-profile exhibition match against Jordan five days before.

Kai Havertz will feature for Germany in a pair of exciting friendlies against Japan and France, with William Saliba set to guard the ex-Chelsea forward after earning Didier Deschamps’ trust.

David Raya will play second fiddle to Unai Simon when Spain encounter Georiga and Cyprus in Euro 2024 qualifiers.

Takehiro Tomiyasu will represent Japan in friendly games against Germany and Turkey, while Jakub Kiwior hopes to help Poland navigate Euro 2024 qualifying clashes against Albania and Faroe Islands.
