Arsenal ‘Initiate First Contacts’ With Eden Hazard As Mikel Arteta Eyes Sensational Swoop

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta wants to sign Chelsea winger Eden Hazard. The Belgium international has had a difficult time at the Bernabeu since his high-profile move to Real Madrid in 2019.

As first reported here, Praizsports understands that a combination of several factors have played into how Hazard has been used under Zinedine Zidane and Carlo Ancelotti.

The veteran winger has dealt with a lot of injuries that physically sidelined him for a long period of time since he arrived in Spain.

In addition to the physical issues, Eden has also fallen out of favor lately with Carlo, starting just seven La Liga fixtures this year and hasn’t been in the squad for their last three league matches.

Hazard

Hazard also sat on the bench and watched as Real Madrid produced a dominant display to defeat PSG in the Champions League round of 16.

It was a remarkable turnaround, but Hazard was not even given a chance to influence the game.

Two years after leaving Chelsea in a big money move to Real Madrid, it looks like Eden Hazard’s time at the Bernabeu is coming to an end.

The 31 year old is attracting interest from Arsenal and a move back to London could be on the cards if he decides to leave in the summer, according to Footmercato.

Eden Hazard

The report states that Arsenal have been in touch with representatives from Real Madrid.

There haven’t been any further developments as of yet and a return to Chelsea is still a possibility, who has expressed interest before sanctions were placed.

Eden Hazard has however made it clear that he’s still not ready to leave Real Madrid for now, with his brother, Kylian, admitting this by saying:

“Eden is fine where he is and his family feels good there. He has a contract until 2024 and I think he will stay until then

“Maybe Eden is playing a little less now and the team is functioning without him. But everyone knows how good he is. He has to show he is a good substitute.”

Whether he leaves or stays with his current team is uncertain.

But if the Gunners can somehow manage to sign this player, it will surely be a major move by the club.
