Arsenal have now submitted their second offer for Ajax defender Jurrien Timber, according to multiple reports.
The bid is believed to be in the region of €45m (£38.7m) to €48m (£41m). It remains to be seen whether it will be enough to secure the 22-year-old’s signature, with Ajax said to be holding out for €60m (£51.6m).
If a deal is finalised in the coming days and weeks, though, it may be a good time to assess Timber’s strengths and weaknesses. Manager Mikel Arteta is reportedly keen to use the Dutchman as a fullback, which means direct comparisons with Ben White are warranted.
